Vespas Say ‘Vroom’

One of my goals this month was to ride down a skinny, Italian street Vespa-style. Unfortunately, traffic laws have almost no existence and I’d be crazy to even get behind the wheel of a large car in any of these cities without a bit of experience first.
Knowing this, I was content watching the seasoned professionals on their Italian toys and I almost completely forgot about my little to-do, until yesterday.
To my surprise, I was invited to snap as many pictures as I wanted of an authentic vintage collection and I ended up getting to grace the leather seats of more than 10 bikes without fighting any traffic.
Very cool.
Who knows, maybe during my next journey I’ll get the nerve to drive one out on the open road.
You look like a native!
It was too much fun! By the way, your Italian handbook was incredibly useful. Pocket-sized comfort when nobody spoke English! Thanks a million.
These are my favorite pics of you so far. Those vespas are adorable.
Awesome photos. I’ve been contemplating starting a Vespa gang in Phoenix. Initiation will be tough, but if you want in let me know. haha.
Aubs- they are even more adorable in person. Santiago- anything is possible, right? Lol.
The place that you are in looks so great! All those collectibles and those photos are very cute! I’ve been told to never, ever drive in Roma. But maybe one day the North. = ) Glad you were able to see some classic beauties. Italy is the place to be to soak up vespa culture, no doubt. I hope to go back and pay more attention to these details next time. Cheers!
Thanks for the comment, Kaie! I’d like to go back and ride in a more relaxed neighborhood, too. I fell in love with those Vespas.
